Ties That Bind is the first novel in the Amish of Summer Grove series. It follows the character of Ariana, who hopes to save enough money to open a cafe. She meets up with a former friend of hers, Quill, who left the Amish many years prior and has helped others leave as well.

This is an interesting book, and I’m glad that there will be more in this series, but it starts very slow and it is difficult to keep up with who all of the characters are. The writing was great and everything was described beautifully. I did become interested in the story once it took off and will be reading the following novels of the series.

I received this book from Blogging for Books for this review.

Last Chance Hero is the fourth novel in the A Place to Call Home series but could also be read as a stand alone novel. It follows the characters of Dr. Jess McLeod, a newcomer to the small town of Last Chance, New Mexico, and Andy Ryan, a former NFL player turned high school football coach. Of course, as can be expected from this type of book, the two become attracted to each other shortly after meeting. However, conflict arises due to the fact that Jess isn’t interested in football and it is Andy’s life. I have read the other three novels in this series so it was great to “see” some familiar faces along the way and meet some new ones as well. The characters are interesting and the plot flows easily. This is a very quick read that you can easily read in one day. I would recommend it to anyone who is a fan of inspirational romance.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher, Revell, in exchange for my honest review.
